The event was dedicated to local voices, community, excellence in education, reconciliation, learning, building relationships and good governance. Thank you to everyone who joined us for those wonderful days in Saskatoon, as well as those who joined us virtually. We were learning together and reflecting on the theme of Local Voices, Local ChoicesEducation Belongs to Community.Economic Impact of Saskatchewan School Boards A new analysis on the economic impact of Saskatchewan school boards on the provincial economy was released in October. Every dollar invested in K-12 education generates more than four dollars in economic activity in Saskatchewanand roughly 1 in 11 jobs in the province depends on school divisions. Those were among the findings of the analysis on the economic impact of Saskatchewan school boards on the provincial economy by Praxis Consulting, a Saskatchewan-based research firm. Through a review of school board spending and high school graduate post-secondary and labour market outcomes, the study demonstrated significant economic benefits to the province of a sound and well-funded education system.Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge The Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge in February announced a new funding amount of $15,000 per school for 2023. Ten schools will be selected to receive funding and a record total of $150,000 will be provided this year to encourage grassroots, local initiatives that promote student nutrition and healthier school environments. The Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge is an amazing partnership that has been in place for 17 years to support nutritional opportunities for students.'
