QESBA President, RENEWAL Joe Ortona along with his entire team won in a landslide race. The turnout for the elections were not what we subsequent actionwould have hoped but we have 96 commissioners and nine Board chairs plan for renewal thisthat are dedicated to our system and our three outstanding court cases. Bill 94:An Act to, in particular, reinforce laicity in the education network and to amendvarious legislative provisions. This Bill extends the application of many laicityprovisions of Bill 21 deeper into the education system. Bernard Drainville,Minister of Education is very attached to implementing 94 and is not preparedto negotiate any amendments. QESBA and its member boards are discussingnext steps as Bill 21 will be heard by the Supreme Court of Canada. 66 1'
