The executive director represents the CSBA at the tablewhich helps ensure a policy governance focus throughout discussions. School Bus Safety TaskforceThe CSBA is a longtime member of the School Bus Safety Task Force Advisory Committee. Led bythe federal department of transportation the task force has focused on electric school bus pilotsand specific school bus safety features, such as extended stop arms and external cameras.Guidelines have been released that will require specific new safety features on all new buses,starting in 2027. There is no requirement to retrofit older school buses.19'
