b'2024-2025 Annual Report Indigenous Education CommitteeChairCarolyn BroadyThe Indigenous Education Committee has continued to focus on the Truth and Reconciliation Callsto Action. Support and monitoring of this implementation is informed by the recommendations ofthe Brant and Associates Report. The goal is progress from legislative, political and educationalperspectives.Leadership for the work of the committee is provided by Felice McKay, Strategic Advisor inIndigenous Education, Saskatchewan School Boards Association. The 2025 Annual Congress and National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education included apanel of Indigenous leaders from member organizations. This was an important opportunity tocelebrate successes, learn from each other, discuss reasons for lack of progress, and to enhancecommunications.The Committee considered feedback related to the title and structure of the annual congress andgathering and recommended a new title that was approved by the board. Starting in 2026 inWhistler, the annual event will be, Trustee Gathering on Education, Innovation and Reconciliation(TGEIR)La rassemblement des lu.e.s scolaires sur lducation, linnovation et la rconciliation(RSIR).The Committee membership was recently revised. In the coming months, the Committee memberswill elect a chair, revise its terms of reference, develop its annual work plan, and develop strategicplan details. 11'
