b'Report to the CSBA Saskatchewan Provincial Highlights July 2023 to June 2024 One-Pager: National School Food Program Our association adopted a resolution in 2023 to advocate with the Canadian School Boards Association for the development of provincial and national healthy, universal, cost-shared school food programs, funded by the federal and provincial governments in consultation with all school boards. We conducted a recent survey of all 27 locally elected school boards in Saskatchewan to understand the current school food programs inventory in our province. One-Pager: Universal Full-Time Kindergarten The role of boards of education is to provide leadership to maximize student achievement for all learners and to set educational priorities and policy based on evidence and shared principles such as equity. Our members adopted a resolution in 2023 to advocate provincially to the Minister of Education for a commitment to improving early learning outcomes in Saskatchewan by allocating sufficient resources to fund universal full-time kindergarten across Saskatchewan schools. 2024 Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge The Mosaic Challenge encourages initiatives to promote student nutrition and healthier school environments through related activities and programming. Ten successful applicant schools were selected to receive funding amounts of $15,000 each for a total of $150,000 in funding. IERF French Translation The Indigenous Education Responsibility Framework has been translated into French and made available in both languages. The IERF is a self-assessment/reflection tool to support school divisions to evaluate, plan and report their Indigenous Education activities. The framework is also a tool to support governance and assist boards in strategic planning.'
