b'Reporting periodSeptember 2023 June 2024ALBERTA SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION CSBA Annual ReportAlberta School Boards Association (ASBA) is the provincial association that serves 61 locally-elected public, catholic and francophone school boards across Alberta, as well as the four publicand catholic boards from Yellowknife and Lloydminster. Over this reporting period, ASBA has expanded services and increased advocacy efforts insupport of members, in alignment with Strategic Plan priorities. Additionally, the association hascontinued to position itself as an influential entity for government decision-making, impactful inthe education system and collaborative with our diverse membership.2023-2026 Strategic PlanAlberta School Boards Associations (ASBA) 2023-2026 Strategic Plan took effect on September 1,2023, and will guide the Associations work. ASBA is proud to implement this member-driven planover the next three years, focusing on strengthening members ability to govern in support ofstudent success; elevating the value and expertise of ASBA and members; and, impacting alldecisions related to education.2023-2024 Board of Directors and CommitteesASBAs Board of Directors oversee the business and affairs of the Association. They areambassadors for not only the Association, but also trusteeship and public education governed byASBAs locally-elected members.ASBA welcomed a new Director in September 2023, representing Francophone RegionalAuthorities. This was a result of ASBAs member-approved revisions to ASBAs Bylaws at the 2023Spring General Meeting, following a comprehensive review with extensive member engagement.
