b'COMMITTEE & WORK TEAM UPDATESIndigenous Education CommitteeChair: Carolyn BroadyThe Indigenous Education Committee has been working with Daniel Brant and Associates, and wasvery pleased to receive their report. The committee, along with the Board of Directors, are veryexcited about the research and recommendations coming from this in-depth work. The report and recommendations from Daniel Brant & Associates will support Indigenouseducation across the country, and propel the CSBA forward. The committee has reviewed therecommendations, and is in the process of identifying specific actions. Funding has beenallocated to contract First Voice leadership to move forward on this work. The CSBA is lookingforward to continuing work stemming from the Brant Report recommendations. Additionalmembers of Indigenous communities will be asked to support the work by defining and settingpriorities.During the 2024 National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education and CSBA Congress, theCSBA will present the first National Reconciliation Partnership Award. The committee is veryexcited to see the inaugural award presented this year. The CSBA is grateful to Felice MacKay andthe Saskatchewan School Boards Association for their support in facilitating the nomination andreview process. Strategic Planning CommitteeChair: Michel ColletteThe Strategic Planning Committee presented a draft strategic plan to the Board of Directors,which was approved.The Board of Directors will work as a Committee of the Whole to implementthe plan. A high-level review document is available on the website (in French and English), along with thefull plan.'
