With the Work Team, the CSBA contracted the University of Regina tocreate professional development modules designed to encourage and support school boards andtrustees as they work to revise policies and leadership practices to better support the needs andaspirations of students and families who are Indigenous, Black or otherwise racialized.Offeredthrough the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), the modules are open to all trustees, and weencourage you to register and complete the modules. Module 1: Understanding the history of colonization, colonialism, race and racialization inCanadian society.Module 2: The impacts of colonization, colonialism, race and racialization on the CanadianEducation system.Module 3: Redesigning and rebuilding an equitable and racially-just education system.Cost: $165Register onlineGovernance Work TeamChair: Carolyn BroadyLast year, the Governance Work Team developed a new membership category for smallerjurisdictions to become members of the CSBA. The Board of Directors was happy to welcomeConseil scolaire acadien provincial to the association as an example of one of these smallerjurisdictions. The CSAP is the acadien governing school board in Nova Scotia, providing Frenchfirst language education. The Work Team is developing a work plan for a comprehensive review of all CSBA committee andwork team terms of reference.'
