Bill 40 fundraising As reported last Congress, QESBA fully expects the current Bill 40 court case to go all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.We have embarked upon a large scale fundraising campaign with Global Philanthropic, a rm that specializes in these types of campaigns to reach out to the leaders of the English Speaking Community in Qubec. As of the close of the scal year, the campaign was well underway. To do-nate, simply go to qesba.qc.ca Bill 23 Yet another piece of legislation that further amended the Education Act even before the government appeal on Bill 40 has been heard.Bill 23 would have given the pow-er to the Minister of Education to name the Director General of our School Boards among other serious centralized amendmentpowers which currently belong to the Council of Commissioners. QESBA was able to reach an agreement with the Minster of Education, Bernard Drainville to suspend Bill 23 in the English sector until the Bill 40 court case is resolved. This was the rst sign of cooperation from this government through Minister Drainville.'
