b'The following is an account of our activities in this first phase of the project: Goal: To establish partnerships with key groups, organizations, and individuals in the anglophone and minoritylanguage francophone sectors to ensure that the initiative responds to the needs of school authorities and systems. 1. On-going virtual meetings with our key partners in various organizations to determine where our projects overlap and how we can establish ongoing collaboration. (Universities, Office of the Commissioner ofOfficial Languages, Executive Directors of national and provincial / territorial associations, Professionalassociations) 2. Sharing information with these groups to inform and raise awareness 3. Coordinate our efforts in the management of our websites and social media platforms to best inform and update our membership on the status of our project. Goal: To directly involve school trustees and system administrators in our discussion 1. Virtual Round Tables were held to bring partners together to hear how our systems are experiencing the French language/ francophone teacher shortage and how a nation-wide database would serve them in their workforce planning. 2. Regular project and activity updates to membership and Board of Directors 3. Clear communication about what we need from our partners. Communiqus and infographics were sent out for distribution to all our school trustees outlining how to support this project. The infographics are posted on the CSBA /FNCSFwebsites and social media. 4. Interviews with HR Directors to gain insight into how they are presently managing their data. 5. Invitation to HR system administrators to share in the process by working closely with our data team to gain input and insights about what data would best serve them. Goal: To increase the awareness, engagement and buy-in of partners and encourage the concept of shared value in creating a strategic pan-Canadian database. 1. A clear Communication Plan was created 2. Upcoming feature article in Leaders and Learners to outline the project and increase awareness. 3. Several school systems will be profiled in a fall issue of Leaders and Learners, regarding how each isexperiencing this shortage. These stories will provide real life examples of the need for collaboration in this effort and tell a story about our need for Francophone and French Second Language teachers across the diverse regions of the country.4. We continue to reach out to trustees across the country to share our information at one of their meetings this fall. 5. Many of our HR partners across Canada have agreed to share project information with their colleagues in other systems to ensure that everyone is aware of our mandate, our timeline and our need to collect data from each of them. Goal: To work in collaboration with other initiatives to better understand the research that other groups haveundertaken in order to mitigate duplication of efforts and avoid redundancy. 1. Working in close collaboration with the Center for Leadership in Education ( le CL) to collaborate in the design of a database, followed by possible future phases 2. Establishing pathways to coordinate efforts between government sectors. To this end, we are looking at a possible virtual meeting between key stake-holders later in the fall. 3. Continuing to connect with the managers of other existing PCH projects in the realm of French language/Francophone teacher shortage to share results and find more ways in which to collaborate. 65'
