b'ANTI-RACISM WORK TEAMREPORTThe Board of Directors is committed to providing national leadership and fully engaged in anti-racism efforts as a top priority. An Anti-Racism Work Team was established, composed of internal and external members, and was supported by external contractors. The Work Team developed and the Board approved an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Acknowledgement as a first step to guide this critical work. With the support of EDI experts, members of the board participated in an anti-racism self-assessment, and a facilitated review of the audit results. The Work Team also oversaw a thorough review of CSBAs policies, procedures and structures. The review and recommendations for follow-up in 2021-2022 are available on the CSBA website. All of these activities lay the groundwork for continued learning, leadership and support to memberassociations, local school boards and trustees. The strategy of starting with an internal look and modeling an approach to systemic change positions the CSBA to provide leadership for its members. These strategies, results and lessons learned were shared at the 2021 Annual Congress and Gathering. A summary of Phase One is available on the CSBA website. The CSBA has issued a request for quotes for phase 2 of the anti-racism work to further develop resources for boards across Canada. The deadline is October 15, 2021 and the Work Team looks forward to continuing its progress and sharing over the next year.
