b'NATIONAL TRUSTEES GATHERING ON INDIGENOUS EDUCATION & CSBA CONGRESS 2019The 2019 National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education and CSBA Gathering was another successful event thanks to the Ontario Public School Boards Association and their stellar team of board members and staff! The program included keynote speakers National Chief Perry Bellegard, Kevin Lamoureaux, and Malcolm Saulis at the National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education, and Dr. Gabor Mat, Valrie Chort, and Brian Woodland at the Congress. With plenary session topics includingDecolonizing our Schools a student panel and school district presentations, the Gathering was filled with excellent professional development. And the Congress also didnt disappoint with sessions on the roles and importance of student trustees, national advocacy for local democracy, and local board autonomy vs collective agreements. Unfortunatley due to COVID-19, the events for 2020 were cancelled. On behalf of the entire membership, the Board of Directors wish to thank the provincial associations for taking on the task of hosting these very important networking and professional development events.
