Devonna Klaassen

Devonna Klaassen currently serves as Vice-president of the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA), elected by Public, Catholic and Francophone member school boards in November 2025. Prior to becoming Vice-president, she served as ASBA’s Zone 2/3 Director from December 2023 to November 2025 and contributed to various committees related to governance and policy development since 2021. 

First elected as a trustee for the Black Gold School Division in 2017, Devonna is in her third term representing the Town of Devon and the Town of Calmar. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and has completed several certificate courses focused on research and best practices in education, leadership and governance. She is passionate about community engagement and is committed to advocating for quality education that supports the whole child and inspires success for all students.

Devonna lives in Devon with her husband and two teenagers. She is an active volunteer with local and provincial swim clubs and enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and pursuing lifelong learning.
