CSBA Executive Director contract renewed to July 31, 2025
Nancy Pynch-Worthylake has served as the Executive Director of the Canadian School Boards Association since 2018. Originally a three-year commitment, she and the board extended her contract twice, with the current contract due to expire at the end of February 2025. In the fall of 2024, after much consideration, Nancy recommended to the board that a search for a replacement be undertaken as soon as possible, with a revised end date for her services of July 31, 2025, to allow for transition.
In her recommendation to the CSBA executive committee, Nancy outlined the advantages of seeking a new Executive Director at this time. The CSBA, under Nancy’s collaborative leadership, has increased its role as the “National Voice for Democratically Elected School Boards – Le porte-parole national des commissions/conseils scolaires locaux élus démocratiquement” and is increasingly sought out as a partner at the national level. The CSBA is developing a new 2025-2030 strategic plan that will guide the work of the association and the National Executive Director into the next decade. The process of recruiting and hiring a new ED while developing a revitalized strategic direction will set up the organization for ongoing success in the name of public education for students throughout Canada.
Nancy is a champion for public education and democratically elected governance and a staunch supporter of the CSBA. The structure of the CSBA, which brings together presidents and ED/CEOs of member organizations to share and collaborate on priorities common to school boards throughout the country, enhances the work of governing school boards and is vital to our Canadian public education systems.

Alan Campbell, CSBA President
