The development of an anti-racism in education strategy is linked to one of the strategic priorities of the CSBA. The CSBA is committed to revising its policies and procedures to increase equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). The CSBA has completed Phase 1 of its anti-racism strategy, which resulted in a self-assessment of the Board of Directors, a review of CSBA Policies, and a presentation of these results at the 2021 Congress and Gathering.

The CSBA is pleased to share resources from the University of Regina. Their Equity and Racial Justice Project involves three modules available online, and are excellent for governing school board members.

MODULE 1: Understanding the History of Colonization, Colonialism, Race, and Racialization on Canadian Society

MODULE 2: The Impacts of Colonization, Colonialism, Race, and Racialization on the Canadian Education System

MODULE 3: Redesigning and Rebuilding an Equitable and Racially-Just Education System
