Council of Ministers of Education Canada (CMEC)

The Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) is an intergovernmental body founded in 1967 by ministers of education to serve as

  • a forum to discuss policy issues
  • a mechanism through which to undertake activities, projects, and initiatives in areas of mutual interest
  • a means by which to consult and cooperate with national education organizations and the federal government
  • an instrument to represent the education interests of the provinces and territories internationally

All 13 provinces and territories are members.

Canadian Education Association
Founded in 1891, the Canadian Education Association is a bilingual, federally incorporated non-profit organization actively discussing and improving the Canadain Education System.

The Society for the Advancement of Excelllence in Education (SAEE)
SAEE provides a non-partisan education research and information to policy-makers, education partners and the public. Our mission is to develop new Canadian knowledge on school improvement and foster the understanding of its use. Curriculum Services Canada (CSC) is the Pan-Canadian standards agency for quality assurance in learning products and programs. We are not-for-profit and provide services related to the evaluation, development, implementation and accreditation of learning resources and the delivery of related educational opportunities across Canada and internationally.

Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Voilence Network (PREVNet)
PREVnet is a coalition of Canadians concerned about bullying. Its primary goal is to exchange knowledge about bullying to enhance awareness, to provide assessment and intervention tools. PREVNet’s website is designed for multiple audiences - children and youth, parents, educators, health professionals, media, public and private organizations, and members of communities throughout Canada.
